CLIFTON PARK & HALFMOON — The Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library has announced the two candidates who will be running in this year’s trustee election.

The election and annual library budget vote will be held on Sept. 26 at the library, between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Residents of Clifton Park will vote on two open trustee positions created by the expiring terms of two incumbents. Incumbent David Golden and newcomer Matthew Cantore have submitted petitions to run for the two trustee positions, which have 5-year terms that begin Jan. 1.

There are no Halfmoon trustee positions open this term. Those who are unable to vote in person on Sept. 26, can fill out an absentee ballot application online at or at the Library. Applications must be received by the library no later than 5 p.m. on Sept. 16.

The Library Board consists of 11 trustees. Seven represent Clifton Park and four represent Halfmoon. Trustees serve five-year terms, attend monthly board meetings, and serve on assigned committee..

Registered voters, both renters and property owners, living in the library district are eligible to vote. Voters must be registered at least 30 days prior to the vote.
