A Clifton Park man was arrested after he attempted to secure almost $4,000 in unemployment benefits to which he was not entitled, state police said.
Michael T. Casey, 34, was charged on Thursday by state police with third-degree grand larceny, offering a false instrument for filing and falsifying business records, all felonies.
Casey turned himself into the state police where he was charged and processed.
Casey was arrested after it was discovered that he made false statements to the state Department of Labor in order to receive $3,976 of unemployment benefits, said troopers.
He was issued an appearance ticket and is due in Waterford Town Court on Sept. 26.
