CLIFTON PARK — An impaired driver from Glens Falls assaulted state troopers who responded to a three-car crash in Clifton Park Sunday, state police said.
State police responded to a three-car crash on Blue Barns Road in Clifton Park when they encountered one of the drivers, Rebecca Nelson, 27, and proceeded to conduct a field sobriety test on her, state police said. No one was hurt in the crash.
During the test, Nelson pushed a trooper, state police said. She was then taken into custody, but refused. She attempted to spit on troopers and bite them. She then kicked one of the troopers, causing an injury, state police said.
Nelson was charged with one count of second-degree assault, a felony, along with misdemeanor driving while ability impaired by drugs, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. She also faces violation disorderly conduct, harassment and unlawful possession of marijuana, state police said.
She was arraigned and ordered held on $5,000 bail.
