MALTA — The GlobalFoundries-Town of Malta Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2020 community benefit grants.
Applications from community organizations may be submitted electronically or mailed to the foundation by Oct. 31. The foundation plans to award about $160,000 in grant funding. The foundation, which is managed by a board of town residents and GlobalFoundries employees, manages an investment fund of money provided by GlobalFoundries as part of its development agreement with the town. Grants may be awarded to organizations, programs, and projects that provide tangible benefits to diverse groups that serve the citizens of Malta, including non-profits, charitable organizations, community arts and theater groups, community historical sites, special events, education programs and sports and recreational activities.
Since 2011, the foundation said it has distributed more than $1 million.
