Gazette aims to bring people together through expos and events

For 125 years, The Gazette has proudly served local communities

For 125 years, The Gazette has proudly served the Schenectady community and, in subsequent decades, expanded its coverage to municipalities north, west and south of The Electric City.

Whether it’s through news articles, feature stories or even display advertisements in our daily, weekly, online or special publications, members of The Gazette staff immerse themselves in those communities to provide our readers with information they need to make decisions about elected officials, controversial topics — sometimes even what or where to purchase. In many cases, members of The Gazette staff reside in the very communities they cover or represent.

Yet being a part of the community is much more than what’s published in the print and online editions of The Gazette; it’s the relationships built and sustained between members of The Gazette staff and its readers, subscribers and advertisers; it’s providing financial support to nonprofit organizations to help get the word out about their special events and fundraisers.

Thanks in large part to the advent of the internet and social media, The Gazette now has more ways than ever to interact with the communities it serves. However, there’s still something to be said for in-person interactions.

One of the ways The Gazette aims to bring people together is through its expos and events. Centered on a broad theme, they offer both readers and nonreaders alike access to representatives from a variety of local businesses offering products and services they might need or want, all in one place at the same time.

Looking to make improvements to your living space? Need information about planning for an active retirement? Saratoga City Center is the place to be on Saturday, Oct. 19, for The Gazette’s 50+ Living Home & Lifestyle Expo, sponsored by Rivers Casino and MVP Health Care.
