SCHENECTADY – A woman found dead on a bus in Schenectady Wednesday morning passed away from a medical issue, police said.

The woman, identified as Kimberly Hill, 51, of Troy, had been a passenger on the Tuesday evening bus from New York City en route to the bus’ Albany stop, police determined. But she did not get off in Albany, police spokesman Sgt. Jeffrey McCutcheon said Thursday.

Instead, she wasn’t found until Wednesday morning, when the driver did a sweep of it, police said.

The driver had made his last stop Tuesday night at State Street and Nott Terrace and then drove to the nearby Imperial Motel for the night. It was there that he discovered her body Wednesday morning and notified police through his manager.

Police identified the bus operator as Fox Bus, Inc.

State police and the state Department of Transportation assisted.
