MILTON – A Sunday afternoon one-car rollover sent the driver to the hospital and resulted in multiple citations, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.
The driver was taken to Saratoga Hospital for evaluation, officials said.
The crash happened at about 12:15 p.m. Sunday on Galway Road, near Chantal Court, officials said. Deputies responded then for a report of a rollover with entrapment and wires down.
Investigators determined the driver, identified as Joelle M. Biango, 35, of Queensbury, had been headed east on Galway Road when Biango’s Hyundai Santa Fe left the roadway off the south side and then struck a Verizon telephone box and several trees.
Biango’s vehicle continued east, crossing Chantal Court, went through a wooded area, downed a tree and then became airborne and struck another tree, deputies said. The Santa Fe finally spun around, struck a telephone pole, severing it, causing live wires to fall to the roadway.
Investigators determined the cause of the crash to be loss of consciousness on Biango’s part. But investigators also cited her for reckless driving, imprudent speed, no seat belt, unsafe lane change, uninsured motor vehicle and failure to notify the DMV within 10 days of an address change.
She is to appear in court on the citations later.
The roadway was closed for several hours as a result of the crash.
