GANSEVOORT — A drunk driver ran a stop sign, hit another car and then fled on foot Sunday evening, state police said.
The occupants in the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and were taken to Saratoga Hospital and released, state police said.
The incident happened just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Gailor Road and Northern Pines Road, state police said.
Daniel J. Lombard, 31, of Gansevoort ran the stop sign on Gailor Road and slammed into a vehicle headed north on Northern Pines Road, police said.
At least one vehicle rolled over, according to a state police release. Lombard, however, fled on foot into the woods, state police said.
A state police K9 responded, but couldn’t find Lombard. State police early Monday then responded to Lombard’s residence and found him.
Lombard was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, reckless driving and two counts of third-degree assault, all misdemeanors. He also faces multiple vehicle and traffic infractions, state police said.
Lombard was arraigned and is to return to court later.
