Marin scores four goals in Spa CC soccer win

Dante Marin scored four goals to boost his season total to 19 and lift the Saratoga Central Catholic boys’ soccer team past Hoosic Valley 5-2 in a Wasaren League game Monday.
Ben Urbaetis had the other goal for the Saints. Derek Howard scored both goals for the Indians.
Tyler Trahan scored on two direct kicks, once of the first half and again in the second overtime, to lift La Salle over Schalmont 2-1 in a Colonial Council game. Hamza Noor tallied for the Sabres.
Lindsey Matthews’ first-half goal stood up as the Niskayuna girls’ soccer team clipped Guilderland 1-0 in Suburban Council action.
Paige Thowe and Molly Pochobradsky scored goals, and Senja Matson made 11 saves as part of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake’s 2-0 Suburban Council field hockey win over Saratoga Springs.
Julie Kuzmich scored in the first overtime as Shenendehowa edged Shaker 1-0 and boosted its league-leading mark to 9-2.
The girls’ tennis sectionals were postponed due to rain and rescheduled for today.
