Man arrested in Clifton Park for alleged credit card theft

Not yet known whether this incident is related to a string of burglaries on Judith Drive

A man who allegedly stole a credit card from a Clifton Park residence and subsequently used it has been arrested by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, according to documents filed in Clifton Park Town Court on Tuesday.

Those documents indicate that Anthony D. Faison Jr., 24, was arrested on Oct. 12 in Clifton Park and charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and third-degree identity fraud.

Statements from deputies included with the court documents say that on Oct. 6 at approximately 11:26 p.m., Faison Jr. stole a Chase Southwest Rewards credit card from a Clifton Park residence on Archer Drive.

Allegedly, he then used the stolen credit card to purchase $20 worth of time in minutes for an inmate phone service.

Early last week, Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies announced that a string of burglaries had occurred overnight while people were sleeping in the vicinity of Judith Drive the week prior.

Both Archer and Judith drives are located in the southern part of Clifton Park in the same general vicinity.

Items taken from the homes on Judith Drive, including wallets, cash, and purses, were in plain sight.

When reached on Tuesday, Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo would not confirm whether any arrests had been made in the Judith Drive burglary incidents, citing the ongoing investigation. However, he noted that more information could be released as soon as Wednesday.

“The investigation is proceeding at a rapid pace today,” he said.
