SCHENECTADY — A city man has been arrested in connection with the Tuesday crash that left a woman injured and snapped a utility pole, authorities said.
Christopher Perry, 34, was charged with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and driving with a suspended license, misdemeanors.
The crash happened just after 8 a.m. Tuesday on Raymond Street, near Avenue B, police said.
Officers arrived to find the car that had struck a utility pole and two unoccupied vehicles.
Police also found a passenger in the vehicle, a 42-year-old woman, with what police described as a minor cut to her face. She was treated and taken to Ellis Hospital.
But officers didn’t find Perry, who fled on foot after the crash, police said. Officers tracked him down in the area of the former Rite Aid on Van Vranken Avenue and took him into custody.
Damage to the utility pole forced the closure of Raymond Street between Avenue A and Avenue B for a time until the pole could be repaired.
