NISKAYUNA — A driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a two-car noon hour crash on Rosendale Road, police said.
The crash happened just before 1 p.m. on Rosendale, between Mohegan Road and River Road, when an eastbound Toyota Prius veered into the westbound lane and sideswiped a Ford Mustang, police said.
The Prius then continued east, left the road and struck a tree, police said. After getting struck, the Mustang continued on and hit a fire hydrant and a utility pole, police said.

The driver of the Prius was taken to Ellis Hospital with what police described as serious injuries. The driver of the Mustang was evaluated at the scene and refused transport, police said.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
Rosendale in the area of the crash remained closed for the afternoon and was expected to remain closed until about 6 p.m.
The closure was expected to cause afternoon bus delays, the Niskayuna Central School District said.
