JOHNSTOWN — The search for a missing Gloversville woman appears to be focused on the area where she was last seen.
Allyzibeth A. Lamont, 22, was last seen Monday evening at about 8 p.m. on Townsend Avenue, near North Comrie Avenue, in Johnstown, Gloversville police have said.
Johnstown police on Thursday had an area near two shops in the Adirondack Plaza, located at the corner of Townsend and North Comrie avenues, blocked off with yellow police tape.
Police, however, did not give any formal updates beyond a morning press release asking for more information from the public.
The plaza includes the Local No. 9 sandwich shop and a neighboring liquor store.

A person who claimed to be an employee of Local No. 9 said Lamont worked there. The police tape covered the parking lot area in front of and behind the building.
State police arrived on the scene at about 6 p.m. Johnstown police and state troopers then began what appeared to be a search of the rear of the property, near a dumpster.
State police spokesperson Officer Kerra Burns said the Johnstown and Gloversville police departments have been named the lead agencies for the investigation, which means they have jurisdiction over making statements about the case.
Johnstown Police Chief David Gilbo did not return a call for comment.
Gloversville police on Wednesday morning asked for help in finding Lamont and released a photo of her.

They are asking anyone with information as to Lamont’s whereabouts or suspicious activity in the area of Townsend and North Comrie avenues from Monday evening until Tuesday morning to contact the Gloversville Police Department Detective Division at (518) 773-4513.
