
TROY — The Mohonasen and Schalmont girls’ soccer teams each advanced to the next round with subregional victories at Lansingburgh High School on Tuesday.
Mohonasen, the top-ranked Class A team in the state, improved to 20-0 with a 7-0 victory over Franklin Academy in which the Mighty Warriors led 5-0 at halftime.
Mohonasen will play Jamesville-DeWitt of Section III, which had a subregional bye, at noon Saturday at Mechanicville High School.
Second-ranked Schalmont advanced to the regional level in Class B with a 4-0 victory over Canton of Section X.
The Sabres, who improved to 18-2-1, will play fifth-ranked Central Valley Academy at 4 Saturday at Mechanicville.
Central Valley Academy advanced with a 4-1 win over Northeastern Clinton.
