CAPITAL REGION — Used cellphones to help military personnel make calls can be donated at AT&T stores and a number of other locations around the 46th state Senate District during December, state Sen. George Amedore announced.
Proceeds from recycling the phones will go to Cellphones for Soldiers, a national non-profit that provides calling cards to active-duty military personnel.
Gently used and unwanted cellphones and tablets can be dropped off at AT&T stores and at the following locations:
— In Montgomery County, the Department of Motor Vehicles office in Fonda; the Canajoharie Public Library, the Amsterdam Free Library;
— In Schenectady County, the Duanesburg and Princetown town halls, and the Rotterdam Public Library;
— In Albany County, the Guilderland Public Library, Altamont Free Library, and Ravena Public Library.
