MALTA — A Ballston Spa woman drove drunk last week — her blood alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit — with two children in her car, state police said Monday.
Katherine E. Kovarovic, 40, of Ballston Spa, was arrested Thursday and charged with two counts of Leandra’s Law driving while intoxicated, felonies, as well as misdemeanor DWI.
Kovarovic was arrested after troopers were called to a residence in Malta for a report that she had driven to the home intoxicated, state police said.
Troopers arrived to find that Kovarovic had also driven there with two young children in the car, state police said.
Kovarovic then failed sobriety tests and was arrested, state police said.
At the state police barracks, her blood alcohol content tested at 0.27 percent. The legal limit to drive is 0.08.
Kovarovic was processed and released to appear in Malta Town Court later.
