SCHENECTADY – A Schenectady man was arrested early Wednesday morning on a weapons count after a raid, authorities said.
Davon M. Barkley, 22, of Eastern Parkway, was charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony.
Barkley was arrested at around 6 a.m. Wednesday during a city police raid at 1040 Cutler St., second floor, according to police and police allegations filed in court.
The raid was the result of a Special Investigations Unit narcotics warrant, police said.
Inside the apartment, police found a loaded Smith and Wesson 40-caliber MP40 and charged Barkley. He is accused of possessing the gun having been previously convicted of a crime, according to police allegations filed in court.
Barkley was arraigned in Schenectady City Court Wednesday and Judge Mark Caruso ordered Barkley held on $25,000 bail.
