
CLIFTON PARK – A Clifton Park man accidentally discharged his gun while cleaning it Friday night and the bullet went into a neighboring residence, state police said.
No one was injured.
John E. Serrell, 43, of Clifton Park, was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree reckless endangerment, a felony, and illegal discharge of a firearm, a misdemeanor.
The incident happened just before 9 p.m. Friday. Troopers responded to a report of gunshots at a residence in the area of Tallow Wood Drive, state police said.
The investigation revealed that Serrell had accidentally discharged the firearm while cleaning it and the round went through a window casing in his home and entered the residence behind him, state police said.
Serrell was issued an appearance ticket to appear in court Wednesday.
