Siena sophomore Jalen Pickett received his latest honor Monday, as the 6-foot-4 guard from Rochester was again named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division I All-District 1 First Team.

Pickett, the 2019-20 MAAC Player of the Year, was also a first-team selection last season when he won MAAC Rookie of the Year. In leading Siena to a 20-10 season that was cut short when the MAAC tournament was canceled because of coronavirus concerns, Pickett averaged 15.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and six assists per game.

Joining Pickett on the first team were Iona’s E.J. Crawford, Vermont’s Anthony Lamb, Stony Brook’s Elijah Olaniyi and Rider’s Dimencio Vaughn.

Second-team members included Hartford’s Malik Ellison, Monmouth’s Deion Hammond, UMass Lowell’s Christian Lutete, Monmouth’s Ray Salnave and Vermont’s Stef Smith.

The district’s coach of the year was John Becker of Vermont.
