SCHENECTADY — The Schenectady Police Department is looking to identify ATV and dirt bike riders illegally riding on city streets.

The department released six separate photos Thursday of riders and vehicles police are looking for and asked the public to help track them down.

“All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) are illegal to operate on public streets and cause a hazardous environment for all,” police wrote on Facebook. “This behavior will not be tolerated.”

Such behavior can lead to arrest and seizure of the vehicles, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the department’s TIPS line at 518-788-6566.

Police earlier this month charged a Rotterdam 16-year-old with multiple misdemeanors, including reckless driving and unlawfully fleeing a police officer related to riding a dirt bike on city streets March 28. Police also seized the teen’s dirt bike.
