NISKAYUNA — The town has expanded special hours of operation at the town’s transfer-recycling center at 2555 River Road.
New hours during the coronavirus health crisis are Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
“Initially, due to the COVID-19 crisis, the town reduced hours at the station to Saturdays to help ensure the safety of the employees and residents,” said Denise Murphy McGraw, chairwoman of the Niskayuna Public Works Committee. “However, use of the station last Saturday was overwhelming. Therefore, we have decided to open on Friday morning as well. This will allow us to serve as many residents as possible will providing ample space between users.”
Residents are reminded to practice social distancing and wear face masks or face coverings, as recently ordered by Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
