SCHENECTADY – A drive-thru food distribution event is set for Schenectady County residents Wednesday in the SUNY Schenectady back parking lot amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The pantry is set to run from 4 to 7 p.m. There is no cost for the pantry and there will be no contact.

Residents will be able to drive through several stations and the food will be placed in their trunk.

Officials set up the event to provide county residents with an additional opportunity to receive fresh produce, dairy and frozen meats, along with non-parishables, officials said.

hose who don’t have cars or are unable to make the event can contact the county’s COVID-19 Emergency Response Coalition hotline at 518-621-3536 for grocery and other basic needs. The hotline is open Monday through Friday.

The coalition is holding the event with contributions and participation from the Regional Food Bank.
