ROUND LAKE – A car slid on morning ice into two trooper cars Wednesday morning, sending trooper and the driver to the hospital for evaluation, state police said.

Both troopers were in the vehicles doing traffic control at the time of the collision, state police said.

The crash happened at about 7:45 a.m. at Exit 11 of the Northway, state police said. The driver of a Nissan lost control on the icy exit ramp and slid into one trooper car, pushing that trooper car into a second trooper car, state police said.

One of the troopers and the driver of the Nissan were taken for evaluation. State police called the injuries minor.

State police Tweeted out a picture of the crash scene later Wednesday morning and urged drivers to drive safely.
