ALBANY — The UAlbany women’s basketball program announced the signing of four players Friday in a press release issued through the school’s athletic department.

Joining head coach Colleen Mullen’s program are Ellen Hahne, Logan Thayne, Kayla Cooper and Channa Hayes.

Hahne — a native of Stockholm, Sweden — played two seasons at Wake Forest, while Cooper, Hayes and Thayne are incoming freshmen. Hahne appeared in 52 games for Wake Forest, contributing 43 points and 54 rebounds.

Thayne starred at Section II’s Hoosick Falls, and averaged 24 points, 14.8 rebounds and 6.6 blocks per game as a senior.

“We are excited that Logan chose to stay close to home and pursue her college career in the purple and gold,” Mullen said in the school’s press release. “She is a talented post who will bring a terrific inside-out presence, and will help to replace much needed size and strength with the graduation of Alexi Schecter and Amanda Kantzy.”

Cooper is from Franklin, Maryland, while Hayes is from Suitland, Maryland.

UAlbany finished 9-21 during the 2019-20 season.
