SCHENECTADY — Schenectady police are investigating an incident Friday evening in which three people were shot on Becker Street in the Central State Street neighborhood.

All three victims are hospitalized; as of Saturday evening, no arrests had been made.

Police said they were called to the area of 1534 Becker St. at 6:36 p.m. Friday for a report of shots fired. Photos from the scene show numerous evidence markers for shell casings on the edge of the street and nearby grass.

At the scene, they found one man who was conscious but suffering from a gunshot wound. At short time later, they said two individuals arrived at the Ellis Hospital emergency room with gunshot wounds; they quickly determined that the injuries stemmed from the same incident.

All three victims are being treated at local hospitals, police said. Two are believed to have non-life threatening injuries, while the third was undergoing surgery Saturday at Albany Medical Center. None of the victims have been identified by police, and no updates on their conditions were available Saturday evening.

The investigation is on-going. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Schenectady Police Department’s Detective Division at 518-382-5245.
