GLOVERSVILLE – Two people have been arrested in connection with an early Thursday morning Gloversville robbery that led to a camper being search by warrant later Thursday, police said.
Damin A. Dacorsi, 22, of Grand Street, Gloversville, and Koree K. Wilson, 23, of Kent Street, Gloversville, were each arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree robbery and weapons possession counts, police said.
They are accused of breaking into an occupied Burlington Avenue residence early Thursday and taking a safe and two rifles, police said.
Police were called to the residence after the burglary, just before 1:30 a.m.. A resident told police that two men, one of whom the resident knew, forced their way in and took the safe that belonged to another occupant of the home, who was not there, police said.
Police soon tracked down the suspect the resident knew, Wilson. Police then learned the two rifles had been taken, an AR-15 and an AK-47 variant, both of which police identified as assault rifles.
Detectives also soon learned the location of both the safe and the stolen firearms, in a camper behind the residence at 25 Grand St., where Dacorsi lived.
Police also found in the camper about 180 bags of suspected heroin packaged for sale, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of cash. Additional charges against Dacorsi related to the suspected drugs are pending tests.
Dacorsi and Wilson were being held Thursday afternoon awaiting arraignment.
Members of the Gloversville Police Department were aided by the Johnstown Police Department, state police, Gloversville Fire Department, Fulton County Office of Emergency Management and the Fulton County District Attorney’s office.
