The Hudson Falls Central School District appointed Jon Hunter to serve as interim superintendent for the 2020-2021 school year, the district announced Monday.
Hunter, who worked as the high school principal in Bethlehem Central School District for over a decade and retired as superintendent of the Fairport school district, will replace Superintendent Linda Goewey, who is retiring on July 31.
Hunter in a statement said the district will need to work on long-term financial planning to handle the fiscal fallout of the panedmic as well as plan to transition back to in-person education.
The district will use next school year to engage teachers, parents and other district stakeholders in a search for the district’s next superintendent.
