SCHENECTADY – City police Monday identified the victim of Saturday night’s fatal shooting as a 27-year-old city man.

Duane Todman was shot and killed just after 9 p.m. Saturday near the corner of Craig and Stanley streets.

Police continued to ask that anyone with information contact the department’s TIPS line at 518-788-6566.

Police were called to the area of Craig and Stanley streets at about 9:06 p.m. Saturday for a possible gunshot victim.

Arriving officers located the man, now identified as Todman, appeared to have a gunshot wound to his neck, police said. The officers immediately started first aid, which was continued by paramedics from the Schenectady Fire Department. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The shooting marked the second gun-related homicide in Schenectady in four days. No arrests have been made in either slaying.

In the first shooting, Fred Gentry, 48, of Schenectady, was shot and killed on Victory Avenue, just blocks away from Saturday’s shooting. An unidentified 28-year-old woman was also injured in the earlier incident.

Police said Sunday there was no indication that the shootings were related, but said it was something detectives would look into.
