ALBANY – State Police made 203 total driving while intoxicated arrests over the Memorial Day weekend statewide, 24 of them in the Capital Region.
Troopers announced the results of their weekend enforcement campaign this week and also covered the number of speeding, distracted driving, seatbelt and move over law citations issued.
In the Capital Region, troopers issued 328 speeding tickets, 13 distracted driving citations, 21 child restraint/seat belt citations and 23 move over law violations. They issued a total of 861 tickets.
Statewide, troopers issued a total of 8,907 tickets, compared to 13,693 tickets issued statewide last Memorial Day weekend. The total 203 DWI arrests compared to 225 arrests last Memorial Day weekend.
