LOUDONVILLE — The Siena women’s basketball team has landed graduate transfer Isis Young, Saints head coach Ali Jaques announced Wednesday.
Young’s college career started in the 2014-15 season at Florida. She spent two seasons there, then transferred to Syracuse whee she spent three seasons and then appeared on the 2019-20 roster for Fordham, where she did not play because she “missed the season due to injury” according to her profile page on fordhamsports.com.
On the court, she competed in one season at Florida and two seasons at Syracuse. She sat out her fresh season at Florida as a medical redshirt, and sat out her first season at Syracuse because of NCAA transfer rules.
Young has one year of eligibility remaining, and Siena is in the process of applying for a waiver that would grant her immediate eligibility. If Siena gets the waiver, Young would have one year of playing eligibility.
“Ice is an amazing woman,” Jaques said in a press release. “I have been a fan of her game since I first saw her play years ago. Knowing her now as a woman, I am very excited to enjoy this journey with her this season. She is a winner. She is an extremely skilled guard that will contribute at multiple positions. I just can’t wait to get on the court again with her and the rest of our Saints!”
At Florida, Young averaged 1.9 points per game. With Syracuse, she averaged 6.7 points per game in 2017-18 and 2.3 ppg in 2018-19.
