SCHENECTADY – A city man was arrested Tuesday, accused of riding off with a golf course beverage cart from Stadium Golf Club in Schenectady, police said.

The incident happened just before 2 p.m. as a golf course worker parked the car outside the club’s pro shop to reload it with beverages, police spokesman Sgt. Nick Mannix said. The suspect then jumped in the cart and drove off, Mannix said.

Police soon found the cart and the suspect at Kelsey Commons apartment complex nearby on Cambridge Road and took the suspect into custody.

Mannix identified the suspect as 39-year-old Angel Castro, of Schenectady. He was being charged with grand larceny, a felony, and processed Tuesday afternoon.
