BALLSTON SPA — A Ballston Spa man has been arrested, accused of possessing and promoting images consistent with child sexual exploitation via the internet, state police said.
Adam C. Carey, 22, was arrested after authorities executed a search warrant at his residence Friday. He was charged with one count each of possessing and promoting a sexual performance by a child, both felonies.

State police in Saratoga arrested him with assistance from the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to state police, the investigation stemmed from a cyber tip received by the state task force.
Carey was issued an appearance ticket and released to appear in court later.
