Fire damages vacant home in Schenectady’s Bellevue neighborhood

SCHENECTADY – A Sunday evening fire damaged a vacant home in Schenectady’s Bellevue neighborhood.

Firefighters were called to the home at 2214 Campbell Ave. for a report of flames there at about 7:30.

Firefighters worked to douse the blaze, but flames could be seen coming from the home’s second floor windows.

No injuries were reported.

The home has been vacant for several years, according to neighbors. It had boarded up windows and had what appeared to be a tarp covering its roof.

The investigation was continuing Sunday evening.
