WATERFORD – A Waterford man has been arrested, accused of possessing and promoting child pornography, state police said.
Jacob M. Rivet, 23, was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count each of possessing and promoting a sexual performance by a child, felonies.
He is accused of possessing and promoting images consistent with child sexual exploitation via the internet. Troopers took him into custody after executing a search warrant at his residence, state police said.
The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip received by the state Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Rivet was issued an appearance ticket and released to appear in court later.
