Two injured in Monday morning Schenectady fire; Both taken to Albany Med

SCHENECTADY – Two people were hurt in a late-Monday morning fire in Schenectady’s Mont Pleasant neighborhood.

The fire was called in just after 11 a.m. at 1321 Third Ave., between Spring and Congress streets.

Firefighters arrived to find fire and two women outside suffering from burns, according to information available at the scene.

The victims were taken in separate ambulances to Albany Medical Center. An update on their conditions was unavailable later.

Firefighters also worked to extinguish the blaze. The home sustained fire and smoke damage to its second floor and attic area and water damage to the first floor.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
