Police: Schenectady man threatened woman with box cutter during burglary


SCHENECTADY – A city man has been arrested, accused of breaking into a woman’s home and threatening her with a box cutter in an incident police described as a domestic, authorities said.

Felipe Goyco, 38, of Schenectady remained in jail Tuesday on one count each of first-degree burglary and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies.

Goyco is accused of forcing his way into the woman’s McClellan Street residence early Friday morning while armed with the box cutter, according to police allegations filed in court.

Once inside, Goyco is accused of pointing the box cutter at a woman in a threatening manner and doing so with a child present, according to the police allegations.

Goyco also faces one count each of second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors.

Goyco was arraigned and ordered held without bail. He is due back in court Thursday.
