College of Saint Rose outlines plans for fall return to campus

College plans Aug. 24 start with students back on campus

The College of Saint Rose on Wednesday joined other Capital Region colleges in announcing plans to bring students back to campus in the fall.

The college plans to commence its fall term Aug. 24, with a mix of in-person and remote courses, as well as courses relying on both, according to a message from Interim President Marcia J. White.

Like at other schools, Saint Rose plans to finish its in-person instruction for the semester prior to Thanksgiving break, with most students remaining off campus for the rest of the calendar year.

The college plans to implement a raft of new health and distancing protocols, including daily health questionnaires for students, limits on large gatherings and ramping up cleaning procedures.

Students and staff who have symptoms or test positive for Covid-19 will be required to isolate. The college said it planned to release more information about on-campus testing procedures.

The plan announced Wednesday largely lines up with what other area colleges have outlined as colleges look to bring students back in the fall, while still relying on some remote teaching to ease the transition back to campus.
