WHAT IS IT LIKE GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MIDDLE OF A GLOBAL PANDEMIC: It is certainly somewhat depressing that a lot of senior events such as the prom got canceled or became virtual for me and my class. Besides, I just strongly feel the longing to go out and meet my friends, but I cannot. Although it is sad that I have to graduate during this pandemic, I am adapting to it and trying to be positive.
WHAT DID YOU LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR CLASSMATES THIS SEMESTER: I think me and my classmates are more kind to each other than we were in the past during this trimester of distance learning. The pandemic put physical distance between us but it brought us closer together in some way. Being separated, we cherish our times together more since this is the last year in high school for us.
WHAT IS A MEMORY OF YOUR SENIOR YEAR YOU’LL NEVER FORGET: The Cum Laude Ceremony. During this event, the speakers each speak for their Cum Laude inductees about the inductees’ merits as one of the top students in the class. I am pleased to have my social science teacher speak for me. And I feel satisfied and happy that effort I spent during these high school years can be rewarded and recognized.
WHAT YOU WILL MISS MOST ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL: Perform music with others in the school band.
WHAT’S IN YOUR MUSIC PLAYER: Pop music, classical music, absolute music
BEST PART ABOUT GRADUATING: I can learn from the past years in high school, celebrate my achievements and set up new goals for myself in college, which I am really looking forward to.
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOU: Discover new things and improve myself to become a better person.
