
SCHENECTADY – A Sunday morning shooting left one person injured in Schenectady, according to information available at the scene.
The victim, 34, of Schenectady, was taken to an area hospital and was in critical condition, police said. She remained in critical shortly after 2:30 p.m., according to a police statement then.
Police were called to the area of Albany and Hamlin streets at about 6:20 a.m. for a report of the shooting.
They arrived to find one victim, a woman, lying in a parking lot near the intersection, suffering from a gunshot wound to her head police said.
Schenectady firefighter/paramedics tended to the victim on scene before Mohawk Ambulance took her on to a local hospital for further treatment.
The shooting remained under investigation Sunday afternoon and anyone with information is asked to contact the Schenectady Police Department TIPS line at 518-788-6566.
