Waterford-Halfmoon High School
Christina Bell
VALEDICTORIAN
PARENTS: Carolyn and Mark Bell
COLLEGE OR OTHER PLANS: Siena College
AFTER COLLEGE: Use what I’ve learned to make a positive difference around me.
WHAT IS IT LIKE GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL IN THE MIDDLE OF A GLOBAL PANDEMIC: It’s different that’s for sure. It is upsetting because we’ve been planning how our last days would go for years now. Nothing has really set in for me yet. I had my last day without even knowing it and missed out on some fun senior activities. It is definitely upsetting for us seniors, but it is something that will always unite the class of 2020 all over the country.
WHAT DID YOU LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR CLASSMATES THIS SEMESTER: I think it started to hit some of us that we will be moving on and won’t be in each other’s lives like we are used to. People are getting jobs, moving across the country, going to college, etc. It’s a chapter that has come to an early end but I’ve learned that the class of 2020 will get through the challenges we will endure in life.
WHAT IS A MEMORY OF YOUR SENIOR YEAR YOU’LL NEVER FORGET: Cheering for my school’s boys’ basketball team at every game!
WHAT WILL YOU MISS MOST ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL: Seeing my best friend since kindergarten every day and all my amazing teachers.
WHAT’S IN YOUR MUSIC PLAYER: The “Hamilton” soundtrack and some Taylor Swift.
BEST PART ABOUT GRADUATING: Getting to meet new people at college and not have to wake up so early every day.
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRES YOU: My family, best friend and young activists.
