Source: UAlbany football’s season-opening game is off

Great Danes were scheduled to play Delaware State

The UAlbany football program’s Sept. 5 game vs. Delaware State won’t be played, a source confirmed Thursday.

According to multiple reports, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference — which includes Delaware State — will announce today that it is canceling all fall sports. That includes football, leaving UAlbany without an opponent for what was scheduled to be the Great Danes’ season-opening game.

UAlbany is scheduled to play Monmouth on Sept. 12.

This report will be updated.
