BALLSTON SPA – A call for a suspicious person this past week led police to a fugitive from California, police said Sunday.
The call came in at about 10:46 a.m. July 12 at the Cumberland Farms on Milton Avenue, police said.
Police quickly found the subject of the call, who then gave police false information related to his name, police said. Police soon identified the man as Kory P. Willis, 30, of Greenfield.
Police also soon determined Willis had an active parole warrant out of California for absconding in an underlying charge of injury to an elder causing death, police said. Further information on the underlying case was not available.
Willis was charged locally with false personation, obstructing governmental administration, misdemeanors, and violation trespass.
He was arraigned and held pending extradition to California, police said.
