Flash Flood Watch issued for Capital Region Tuesday; Remnants of Tropical Cyclone Isaias

ALBANY – A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the entire Capital Region for Tuesday into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The watch runs from 7 a.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Rainfall amounts of between two and four inches are possible, with localized amounts of up to six inches.

The heavy rainfall is to come in the form of showers and embedded thunderstorms ahead of and associated with Tropical Cyclone Isaias, the service said.

Hourly rainfall rates may exceed an inch an hour late Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night.

The rains have the potential to cause localized flash flooding in urban, poor drainage and low lying areas, the service said. Smaller streams and creeks may also flood.
