The Gloversville Post Office has received a letter from the United States Postal Inspection Service dated July 31 indicating recent “mail theft.”
Officials at the post office provided the Daily Gazette with a copy of the letter upon request, but would not answer any questions about it.
The letter does not Gloversville specifically or any specific incident, but asserts “Your neighborhood has recently been a victim of mail theft.”
Officials at the city of Johnstown Post Office today said they have not received any letter warning of mail theft.
More information about this story will be in Friday’s Daily Gazette.
