HADLEY – A Saratoga Springs man died in the Hudson River at Hadley Thursday afternoon, state police said.

Rescuers were called to the area of the Hadley Bridge just before 3:30 p.m. Thursday for a missing swimmer, troopers said.

Ryan S. Taylor, 38 had been swimming in the area of the bridge. As he returned to shore, he became distressed and went under the water, state police said.

Multiple agencies responded to the scene and searched the river for Taylor. Divers located his body at about 5:12 p.m. in 17 feet of water, state police said.

Divers from the Corinth and South Glens Falls fire departments made the recovery, state police said.

The incident came the same day divers recovered the body of a Bronx man in Lake George. The man had been missing since Wednesday.
