Troopers: Vermont man found with gun after Northway traffic stop in Moreau

MOREAU – A Vermont man was arrested Saturday and charged with weapons possession after a Northway traffic stop, state police said.

Ramzi M. Kori, 20, of Burlington, Vt., was charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, along with misdemeanor drug possession and drug paraphernalia possession.

The stop happened just before 3 p.m. Saturday after troopers spotted him commit multiple traffic infractions on the Northway in Moreau. 

After speaking with Kori and his passengers, the trooper spotted signs of drug use and conducted a vehicle search, state police said.

The trooper found Kori in possession of a 9mm handgun in the center console of the vehicle which he did not legally possess, state police said. Troopers also found drug paraphernalia containing powder believed to be cocaine residue.

Kori was processed, arraigned and released to return to court later.
