
SARATOGA COUNTY – A clerk at a Clifton Park gas station sold alcohol to a minor in an underage alcohol sting, while 18 other establishments passed, state police said.
State police conducted the underage drinking enforcement detail Tuesday at a total of 19 different stores around the county, state police said.
Only a clerk at the Speedway, 100 Commerce Drive, Clifton Park, sold alcohol to the underage person, state police said.
Troopers identified the clerk as Darien M. Bigelow, 20, of Schenectady. Bigelow was charged with one count of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, a misdemeanor, and released to appear in court later.
State police also identified the 18 other establishments that refused to sell to the minor and all passed. All the other checked were in the Route 9, Clifton Park areas.
