Big league debut for Shen’s Ian Anderson nets first big league baseball card

CLIFTON PARK – Shenendehowa’s own Ian Anderson now has his first major league baseball card, of his first major league performance.

Anderson broke into the bigs Wednesday in impressive fashion as he no-hit the New York Yankees over five innings and got his first major league win.

As a top draft pick and minor leaguer, Anderson has already had many previous cards. But the baseball card company Topps Thursday put on sale his first major league card, with a photo and information from Wednesday’s game.

The card, under the company’s Topps Now brand, is among a series of cards that celebrate player accomplishments, including big debuts, as the season goes along.

The cards, however, are only available direct from the company for 24 hours. Anderson’s is available until about 2:30 p.m. Friday. Cards are available at different pricing for the number of cards ordered, but start at one for $9.99 at

The 6-foot 3-inch right-handed pitcher, Shenendehowa grad and No. 3 selection by the Atlanta Braves in the 2016 MLB draft threw five innings of no-hit baseball against the New York Yankees Wednesday before giving up a solo home run to Luke Voit in the top of the sixth inning.
