Police: Man wanted in Florida murder confirmed in Gloversville Thursday morning

GLOVERSVILLE – A man wanted for murder in Florida was confirmed to have been in Gloversville Thursday morning and police asked the public to report any sightings.

Police Thursday evening released a recent photo of Douglas R. Roe, Jr., 44. He is considered dangerous and should not be approached, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Gloversville Police at 518-773-4506, police said.

Police Thursday afternoon raided a Gloversville home at 61 Third Ave. in an attempt to find Roe, but came up empty-handed. They did, however, confirm that Roe had been there Thursday morning, police said.

Roe is accused of participating in a murder in Clay County, Fla., in November, police said. Clay County is southwest of Jacksonville.

Gloversville Police were assisted Thursday by Johnstown Police, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, the state police and the U.S. Marshal’s Service.
