Montgomery Co. Sheriff: Amish hay wagon struck by truck; Sprakers man in hay wagon killed

TOWN OF ROOT – One man was killed Monday night when a pickup truck collided with an Amish hay wagon, Montgomery County Sheriff’s officials said.

Officials identified the man killed as Joel K. Glick, 49, of Sprakers. He was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The driver of the pickup truck was identified as Brett G. Taylor, 57, of Fultonville. He was uninjured.

The crash happened shortly after 8 p.m. on Route 162 between Currytown and Darrow Road in the Town of Root, officials said.

No animals were harmed in the crash.

Deputies, along with the Rural Grove Fire Department and GAVAC responded to the scene.

The accident remained under investigation Tuesday.
